An Ode Written about Cardboard

Cardboard is beautiful
especially when exposed
Revealing the ridges
hidden beneath

Like Teak or Oak
its moving color and texture
are alluring

I like my cardboard in large pieces
The larger, the less limited
the potential

Cardboard is experimental
Cardboard is gold
Cardboard can be cut
And Cardboard can fold

I found a piece of cardboard today
and breathed my fingertips across it's surface
inhaling the hair-like filaments it grows
listening to the harmony it sang

Cardboard is beautiful
especially when exposed
Cardboard can be cut
and Cardboard can fold

Cardboard laptop rack for exercise bike

Materials box from Pizza Hut pasta, glue, packing tape. Basically I stuck the box on the bike to use to make template, but the box fit so well I just cut it with scissors and many of the folds just worked out.

Can I compost Cardboard?

Yes

"Cardboard adds lots of great carbon to a compost heap. It rots down quicker if it's wet and torn into small pieces (the tearing is also easier if it's damp). If you've got a lot of it, try to alternate layers with other matter."

Hack a Cardboard Box into a DIY Solar Oven

From Lifehacker: "Eco-friendly weblog The Daily Green details how to turn a cardboard box into a DIY solar oven for a little weekend fun in the sun. All you'll need is the box, some construction paper, tin foil, plastic, and a few other items you're likely to have around the house, and when you're done you'll have a full-fledged cardboard cooker."

Environmentally-Friendly End Table

Cardboard end table

I had this box sitting around for weeks and I started using it as an end table. So one day I decided why not just transform it into an actual end table!
